Gingerbread and the Christmas market, sausages and Albrecht Dürer. The Franconian metropolis is over 950 years ald, but is still a vital city with an Old Town full of rustic pubs, bars and stores, sociable beer gardens and charming Squares. The medieval imperial castle, the splendid Gthic churches, such as St Lavrence and St. Sebaldus, the Beautiful Fountain on the main market square or the Craftsmen´s Courtyard directly at the Königstor tower are musts. But the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the German Railway Museum or the New Museum – State Museum for Art and Design – also deserve mention.
